Q: WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO MANDURAH FLYSCREENS & SECURITY DOORS?
A: Mandurah Flyscreens & Security Doors isn’t going anywhere. It still remains and forever will be your number one security doors manufacturer. Matthew and Luke Wray along with their team, have been running the business with that local, family dynamic for nearly 10years & are looking forward to serving the Peel Region for the next 10.
Q: WHAT IS THE HOME HUB?
A: The Home Hub has been created as an easy, all encompassing title for all of the great businesses that reside in our new factory and showroom at 81 Gordon Rd, Mandurah. Q: HOW DO I REMOVE MY SLIDING SECURITY DOOR FOR REPAIRS?
A: By locating the screws at the top of the door that adjusts the top rollers and turning the screwdriver in an anti clockwise direction. Do not adjust the bottom rollers as this will alter the lock height. Alternatively, you can request a service booking HERE!
Q: IT SEEMS AS THOUGH MY LOCK/ BARREL IS SEIZED, WHAT CAN I DO?
A: You can try to rectify this by liberally spraying all parts with silicone spray (not WD40 or CRC as these attract dust and dirt) however if this does not work a callout from your installer will be necessary.
Q: THE BARREL IN MY DOOR IS LOOSE?
A: There is a screw that holds the barrel tight on the side of the door, this can occasionally come loose after time, tighten with Philips head screw driver
Q: CAN I HAVE STAINLESS STEEL MESH PUT INTO MY EXISTING FLY/ GRILLE DOOR?
A: Unfortunately not as the frame for Stainless Steel mesh is customised to insulate the Stainless Steel from the aluminium to prevent corrosion, which can occur if two dissimilar metals are in contact.
Q: CAN A PETWAY BE INSTALLED INTO ANY SECURITY DOOR?
A: Yes they can be, however if it is only a fly door additional framing to contain the petway is required. Petways purchased elsewhere may not be suitable.
Q: WHY WILL MY DOOR NOT CLOSE AS IT USED TO?
A: Possibly cleaning the striker plate and tongue can fix this, 90% of the time it is dirt or salt on the striker (silver piece on the frame) spray silicon spray into lock and striker. If it is closing too slowly or quickly maybe the door closer needs an adjustment or possibly the hinges may need adjusting. If it is a sliding door this maybe caused by worn rollers or the tracks may need cleaning.
Q: WHAT COLOUR CAN I HAVE MY DOORS OR SCREENS MADE IN?
A: There is a large range of standard colours such as Anotek Dark Grey, Black, White, Brown, Magnolia, Doeskin, Bronze and Clear Anodised. Q: WILL INSTALLING SECURITY DOORS/ SCREENS REDUCE MY HOME INSURANCE?
A: Possibly as many insurance providers do give discounted premiums to households that have additional security features.
Q: HOW DO I CHOOSE WHICH SECURITY PRODUCTS ARE RIGHT FOR ME?
A: Our experienced consultants can guide you through the maze of security options available, and provide samples and information on products that you feel are best suited to your lifestyle and budget.
Q: DO YOU HANDLE THE COUNCIL APPROVAL?
A: Yes! We will handle the plans submission and approval process for you to your local council house. You just sit back and wait for us to sort it all out.
Q: HOW LONG DOES A COUNCIL APPROVAL TAKE?
A: Some local councils can take as long as 8 weeks. There’s no set time frame but the average is approx 6 weeks. However, don’t get caught out, some council approvals can take as little as 2 weeks.
Q: HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT MY NEW PATIO TO TAKE TO BE CONSTRUCTED?
A: We will always endeavor to get your patio up as soon as possible. Average construction time is approx 4 weeks. But different circumstances can increase your build time, such as peak season demands.
Q: WHAT MAINTENANCE DO ROLLERSHUTTERS REQUIRE?
A: Rollershutters are relatively low maintenance and will look great for years if you keep the tracks free of dirt and debris and wash using only warm soapy water and a non abrasive cloth.
Q: DO ROLLERSHUTTERS IMPROVE MY HOMES SECURITY?
A. Yes. Rollershutters have been used for years as an excellent deterrent for would be intruders. Insurance companies will recognize shutters as an additional barrier to your home and in conjunction with AS2008 security screens and doors, will make an almost in-penetrable layer of protection.
Q: ARE YOU LICENSED TO INSTALL SECURITY SYSTEMS?
A: Absolutely! Not only is it the best practise to be trained and licensed, it’s also the law. All of our consultants and installers are licensed by the WA Police and we are all fingerprinted and police cleared. It’s just another great protection put in place by us, to ensure you get the best and safest service possible.
Q: HOW EFFECTIVE ARE ALARMS… REALLY?
A: Alarms have the potential to be very effective in keeping your family and home safe. When installed and commissioned correctly. Alarms must serve a function within the building and custom design is the key to achieving the desired result. For example, a 2 or 3 sensor internal alarm will rarely be enough to catch intruders effectively. These sensors generally would not cover enough area and by the time they do detect, it’s too late. We don’t offer “alarm in a box” solutions so you will always get the right product for your home or business.
Q: I DON’T NEED MONITORING, DO I?
A: Plain and simple, YES! There is a bad name out there for monitored systems, but this is mostly due to bad operators who sell bulk monitoring at low cost with poor service. When your security system is triggered, our monitoring company will make decisions based on the events triggered and the rules you have defined for them to follow. They will call anyone or everyone on your contact list if required. They will inform security services if you have this defined and they will contact Police in the situation you have multiple triggers or upon your request. They will also handle contacting Fire and Ambulance services if you trigger them from your panel interface. The services are very reliable and can save lives.
Q: WILL MY ALARM BE NBN READY?
A: Yes. We use specialized wireless data connections and IP data connections to maintain a reliable monitoring link. No telephone line required.
Q: WHY WOULD I NEED CCTV?
A: It sounds like something from the movies, we know! But CCTV has proven time and time again to provide real results when combined with an alarm system or when installed on it’s own. Video can be run to nearly any TV in your home for instant access while at home. It can be accessed from anywhere in the world via an internet connection and your smart phone. And it can be integral in forwarding details of intruders to police instantly so they may recognize them straight after an offence.
Q: DOESN’T CCTV HAVE A LOW IMAGE QUALITY?
A: Not any more. New technologies now allow us to affordably install Full High Definition cameras and recorders to your home or business. The additional resolution now allows Police to recognize individuals by their face, pick up logos on clothing and even read licence plates at distance. Low light quality has improved substantially with image pickup at 0 lux. Meaning no light at all. We can even place additional IR lights that only your cameras can see to really light up a scene.
Q: ISN’T AUTOMATION ONLY FOR THE SUPER RICH & MEGA HOMES?
A: Definitely not. The very best thing about our automation systems, is that they are affordable and suitable for any sized home or business. They can be scaled upon too, meaning you can start small and add to it as your needs and budget changes. We have happy customers in suburban 4×2 homes all the way up to million dollar homes that all benefit from the same advantages and pleasures that automation brings.
Q: I’M NOT LAZY, CAN’T I JUST USE THE WALL SWITCH TO WORK MY LIGHTS?
A: Of course you can! Keep it simple we say. The first thing to remember is that automation doesn’t just mean lighting control. That’s just one aspect of a connected home. Automation can also be applied to your audio visual system such as your home theatre, lounge TV and audio zones in your home. It can also mean blind and shutter control, security alarm and CCTV integration, gates and locks and more! In regards to your homes lighting though, ask us how an automation system can actually make your lighting greener and save you money.
Q: I LIVE IN A CEMENT BOX OF A HOME, CAN I STILL GET AUTOMATION?
A: I’m glad you asked. We can install to most homes that would have been considered in-penetrable with existing automation systems. Our system uses a unique wireless communication method that is robust, reliable and safe and requires only a power supply to work. This wireless system is so powerful, we have wireless automated heritage listed buildings with thick rock walls without a problem. Our solution is the only TRUE retro-fit option on the market today.
Q: AT WHAT STAGE OF MY BUILD SHOULD I CONSIDER AUTOMATION?
A: At the design stage. The earlier the better. Speak to your architect/designer/builder about automation solutions from the start. This will give them and understanding of what is required in their design to facilitate your wants and needs, and ultimately save you money in the long run.
